A note about Prom
April 18th, 2017
As in years past, outside beverages have been prohibited from RFH proms in an effort to prevent covert alcohol consumption. As many of you aware, marijuana and other drugs are being dispensed in various forms. THC-laced gummy bears, lollipops, and mints have gained popularity. To ensure a healthy and SAFE prom and post-prom, all beverages, candies, mints, and any other outside foods are not permitted at the prom and post-prom. Once inside the prom, if needed, RFH will supply mints.
Please be reminded, compliance with a drug-free standard of conduct at all school functions is mandatory for all students. Pupils suspected of being under the influence of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or steroids will be identified, evaluated, and reported in accordance with the law. A pupil who uses, possesses, or distributes drugs, alcohol, tobacco or steroids while attending a school-sponsored activity will be subject to discipline, which may include suspension or expulsion, and may be reported to appropriate law enforcement personnel. Please be advised The Gramercy property, including the parking lot, is considered to be an extension of the school zone. As such, all vehicles entering the school zone shall be subject to search if there is reasonable suspicion with respect to drugs or alcohol. Any student found to be in possession of or in a vehicle with either drugs or alcohol would be in violation of the school’s drug and/or alcohol policy.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
