Ian Jukes Is Keynote Speaker at RFH Professional Day
Rumson — Ian Jukes, who has garnered international acclaim as an expert on educating the “Digital Generation,” will be the featured speaker at Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School’s Professional Day on September 3.
His keynote address, titled “Critical Thinking and Effective Question/Discussion Strategies,” will be presented to all RFH staff members in the school’s auditorium. This special presentation will serve as a kick-off for the events of Professional Day, which is designed to help RFH staff effectively prepare for the upcoming school year.
Breakout Sessions with Jukes are also scheduled for RFH staff at various points throughout the day. The Breakout Sessions will allow smaller groups to discuss and clarify important points contained in the keynote address.
Jukes is an educator first and foremost and is also well-known as a best-selling author, keynote speaker, and founding partner of the international consulting group 21st Century Project.
Jukes’s focus has consistently been on the compelling need to restructure our educational institutions and make them relevant to the current and future needs of students. His mission is to ensure that students are properly prepared to succeed in a technology-driven culture.
As a result, his irreverent and highly-charged presentations emphasize many of the practical issues related to ensuring that the changes made are meaningful.
Jukes is the author of over a dozen books including the best-sellers “Understanding the Digital Generation” and “Literacy is not Enough; 21st Century Fluencies for the Digital Age.”
Jukes, who also has experience as a teacher, administrator, and university professor, typically delivers presentations to between 300,000 and 400,000 audience members per year.
In his work with 21st Century Project he has partnered with clients in forty countries and made more than nine thousand presentations.
His “Committed Sardine” Blog, dedicated to helping educators better prepare students for success in the digital age, has 78,000 followers in seventy-five countries.
