AFG Objectives

Objective # 1 – Maximizing Student Success

By 2012, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School students will exhibit increased motivation for, and excellence in academic performance as evidenced by:

A. Increased attendance, reduced lateness, and fewer discipline referrals
Goal:

2009 – 2010 a) 1.5% increase average daily student presence

b) 1.5% reduction discipline referrals
c) 1.5% reduction in un-excused late arrivals

2011 – 2012 a) 1.5% increase in average daily student presence
b) 1.5% reduction discipline referrals
c) 1% reduction in un-excused un-excused late arrivals

B. Narrow discrepancies between course objectives for mastery and performance on term assessments for all subject areas which impact student GPA.
C. Students maintaining involvement/stake in their education through end of senior year/after college acceptance by increased participation in senior project (alternative assessment).

Baseline:
2006 – 2007: 8 % of senior class involved in senior project

Goal:
2009 – 2010: 12% of senior class involved in senior project
2011 – 2012: 14% of senior class involved in senior project

D. 11th grade students will move from “Proficient” to “Advanced Proficient” in both sections (Language Arts Literacy and Mathematics) of the HSPA

Objective #2 – Student Writing

By 2012, Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School students will demonstrate an improvement in critical, creative, expository, and persuasive writing techniques across all curricular areas as evidenced by:

A. Improved average score for 9th, 10th, and 11th graders on Fall and Spring Department writing samples.
B. An improvement in the number of students scoring above the mean for baseline year (2005 – 2006 = 554) of the writing section of the Scholastic Aptitude Test (S.A.T.)
C. Decreased incidents of academic dishonesty violations specific to research and writing (plagiarism) as indicated by the number of reported annual incidents.
