Students Helping Students
Dr. Fico, Student Assistance Counselor, and Ms. Mazza, School Social Worker, promote student wellness through the Peer Leadership program and by offering a variety of support groups. The support groups assist students in identifying healthy coping skills and building resiliency, preparing them to address life’s challenges.

Support group meetings include, but are not limited to:

  • Anger Management
  • Coping with Feelings of Grief
  • Feel Good
  • Mindfulness
  • Social Skills
  • Straight Edge
  • Stress Management
  • Study Skills
  • Young Men’s Work
  • Young Women’s Lives

The last two groups involve students of one gender in discussion of pressures of life in today’s society, including school stress, peer relationship issues, and family conflicts.

R-FH staff, students and parents report that the groups provide support and direction while teaching the necessary skills for students to develop into a healthy, productive young adults.
