RFH Girls Golf Team Claims Number Eight Berth at Tournament of 
shares Division Title with Red Bank Catholic High School Champions,
 
Rumson — The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Girls’ Golf Team earned a share of the Division Title and ended their season with an overall record of 15-1.
 
The team’s performance at the State Sectionals Tournament gained them entry into the Tournament of Champions for the first time since 2010. 
 
The RFH girls made their presence known at the Tournament of Champions held at Cherry Valley Country Club in Skillman, New York on May 24. Senior co-captains Nicki Liang and Katie Veasey along with sophomores Meghan Foos and Stefani Sciametta claimed the number eight spot in the state with a combined score of 375.  Veasey’s individual score of 80 placed her in a three-way tie for fifteenth place at the Tournament of Champions as well. 
 
The team also earned Third Place honors in tournament play at the Monmouth County, Shore Conference, and State Sectionals. Veasey was invited to participate in the prestigious Challenge Cup held at Buena Vista Country Club in Marlboro, where her Monmouth County Team beat the Ocean County Team by a score of 13.5 to 1.5. She was also selected for the Asbury Park Press AllShore Team for Girls’ Golf for the second year in a row.
 
“Our team has grown tremendously in skill this year as evidenced especially by our play at the final match, where we beat our friendly rival Red Bank Catholic by three strokes” said Veasey. “Coach Jon Pennetti has provided endless support and gone out of his way to help us reach this level.”
 
In addition to Liang, Veasey, Foos, and Sciametta, the RFH Varsity Girl’s Golf Team members are sophomore Phoebe Short and junior Margaret Heintzelman. 
 
“The girls all played some great golf and I could not have been happier with them,” said Pennetti. “I am really looking forward to building on this success and having a phenomenal season next year.”
