RFH Girls Soccer Team Wins
NJSIAA Group II Championship
2-1 Score Against Bernards High School
Earns Second Crown in Program History
Rumson — The Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School Girls’ Soccer players put the “team” in “teamwork” to clinch the NJSIAA Group II Championship on Saturday, November 23.
“Everyone’s contribution was essential in winning this championship,” said Coach Mary Beth Coleman. “Each player’s talent, hard work, unselfish contributions, and passion to succeed paid off for the entire team.”
The girls bested Bernards High School at The College of New Jersey with a score of 2-1 to win the second Group II Title in the program’s history. RFH earned its first Group crown in 2008.
Both the Rumson and Fair Haven Fire Departments and and First Aid Squads provided an escort as the team headed home.
“Having the first responders from both towns come out for the girls was just an incredible experience,” Coleman noted.
The varsity girls ended their season with a record of 16-7-1.
“Words cannot describe how proud I am of this year’s team,” said Coleman. “We had an incredible run during the tournament and I am extremely happy for each and every one of them.”
The RFH girls’ varsity soccer players are Schuyler DeBree, Allie Cuje, Janie DeVito, Anna Finn, Caitlin Griffith, Kaitlyn Hess, Meagan McGurl, Lindsay McKean, Olivia Rosenberg, Michaela Borneo, Lindsey Corydon, Allie Geiger, Emma Gill, Caroline Kostecky, Jacqueline Littleson, Morgan Mulligan, Samantha Beaudreault, Catie Clark, Grace Forsyth, and Hanna LoSavio.
Donna Dini and Jeff Herkimer serve as Assistant Coaches for the RFH Girls Soccer team.
