RFH Grad Rob Margolies Directs, Screens New Film
October 23rd, 2012
RUMSON – Rob Margolies, RFH 2001, is returning to the east coast this May for a special – and only – NJ screening of his new film “She Wants Me” at Monmouth University. He will also be making an additional stop at RFH on May 2nd to treat the film classes and film club to an up-close-and-personal chat about the film business, and to talk about other industry work he has done in addition to feature length films.
Margolies, who last visited RFH in 2009 to screen his first feature length film “Lifelines” to both psychology and film classes, talked about the making of the film, where he is credited as screenwriter, director, and producer. The film was noted for being shot in 11 days. The film also played under another title “Wherever you Are” where it received a wonderful review by Robert Ebert, who remarked that the direction was “confident and economical”.
On May 2nd, in English teacher Dana Maulshagen’s film class, he will be screening the trailer of second feature film and upcoming release “She Wants Me” and talking to film and writing students at RFH about filmmaking and the business of film and movies. The film, for which he is both writer and director, features actors Josh Gad, Hillary Duff, Wayne Knight, and Charlie Sheen.
The film’s full screening will take place in the Pollack Auditorium at Monmouth University, Cedar Ave Long Branch, on May 2nd, 7:30pm. Refreshments and a Q&A will follow the film.
