RFH Students Win Second Place in Book Cover Contest

This past week two RFH students were recognized for their artistic abilities and were awarded 2nd place in a Cover Contest that is distributed during the Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival in March. Kurt Fleischer and Sarah Nescezny created the piece entitled “A Child's Dream”. This artwork was printed on the inside cover of over 2,000 Teen Arts programs that were distributed to the attendees of the Teen Arts Festival.

When asked about the art they created, Kurt Fleischer looked to his younger siblings for inspiration. Kurt said that seeing his siblings playing around the house with different toys inspired the ideas he had for this project. Initially, he presented three different sketches to his collaborator Sarah. Then they chose. Sarah was responsible for the line work and the finishing touches. Kurt made the rendering on the computer.  Both Sara and Kurt will receive a gift card to The Downtown in Red Bank.

The Monmouth County Teen Arts Festival took place on March 22nd. Over 100 RFH students attended with 30 pieces of art, jazz band, creative writers and filmmakers that were adjudicated. There were categories for paintings, music, writing, and film.
