The Rumson-Fair Haven Board of Education met with eight highly qualified candidates for a first round of Superintendent interviews over three evenings this past week.  Each of the interviews was engaging and insightful, and we appreciate the time, commitment, and professionalism of all the candidates we met.  From that group, the Board has selected five impressive candidates to advance to second-round interviews, which will be held in Executive Session on the evenings on January 14 and 15.

The input we received from our stakeholders continues to be vital in the Board's decision making. We are looking forward to providing updates as we move forward in our search for an exceptional educational leader for our students and community.

The Rumson-Fair Haven Board of Education met on Monday, November 18 with our Search Consultant to review fully the application materials submitted by all of the candidates for Superintendent.

Using the outcomes from the input survey and input sessions conducted with our stakeholders, the Board unanimously selected eight talented and accomplished candidates for first-round interviews.  Those interviews will be conducted in closed sessions on Monday, December 16; Tuesday, December 17; and Thursday, December 19.   Second and third interviews with the candidates who advance through each round will be held in January.

We appreciate your continued support during the search process, and we look forward to posting future updates on our progress as they occur.  

As of the close of the application window on November 3, twenty-six candidates have applied for the position of Superintendent: six current Superintendents, nine Assistant Superintendents, two candidates in other district-level director positions, six school principals, and three candidates in other positions in public education.   Fifteen candidates have earned doctorates.

The Rumson-Fair Haven Board of Education will convene in executive session during its meeting on the evening of November 18 to examine each of the candidates' qualifications and to determine who will be selected for first-round interviews, using the insights gained from the online survey and the in-person school stakeholder input sessions conducted in October.   Thank you to those who gave their time and offered their thoughts in the input session and surveys.

The RFH Board of Education needs the perspectives of all of our stakeholders as we begin the search for our new Superintendent.   Our Search Consultant, Kathy Helewa, will be spending a day in our District on Monday, October 7 to listen to our stakeholders in a series of in-person input sessions.  Ms. Helewa will be meeting with students, teachers and staff, and administrators during daytime hours and RFH families and community members in the evening.   These sessions will not be meetings of the Rumson-Fair Haven Board of Education and Board members will not be present.

We urge our families and community members to meet Ms. Helewa in the  Lower Learning Commons from 6pm--7pm on October 7  to share your perspectives.   An anonymous online input survey will be available for all of our school stakeholders from October 2 through October 9 (link will be published on this page).
