Welcome to the Learning Commons Homepage

  • The mission of the Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School’s Learning Commons is to encourage a love of reading and student learning and engagement through the pursuit of knowledge and of their interests by providing access to various types of media, resources and perspectives.  The RFH Learning Commons strives to promote student choice, intellectual freedom, research skills, media awareness, and information and digital literacy in a comfortable, nurturing, collaborative and academic environment.

    The RFH Learning Commons

The Lower Learning Commons is the hub of our media center/library space and our school! You will find the circulation desk, the small color printer for student & staff use, portable device chargers, our fiction collection, and multiple seating areas for our students to work or relax and enjoy the space.

Our Upper Learning Commons is home to our new 9th Grade Academy during Marking Period 1 and is designated as a quiet study & learning space. It houses our nonfiction collection and reference collection for research.  Three small group study rooms, each with a presentation screen, are available for student groups and staff to reserve.  Along with some comfortable seating, tables, another copier/printer, and seminar space, the Upper Learning Commons provides students and classes with multiple options for both full class and small group work and our counseling staff with space for presentations and workshops as needed.  It also often houses our College Representative Visits and special programming.

In both the Lower and Upper Learning Commons, screens, projectors, and software allow faculty and students to present in a variety of spaces, and on multiple screens simultaneously.  Both also serve as a gallery space to display the amazing artwork of our talented students and gathering spaces for board meetings and community events.
