Alex Stein Named Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School’s Educational Services Professional of the Year
Athletic Trainer, Alex Stein, has been announced as Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School’s “Educational Services Professional of the Year.” He was notified while working with students by Principal Stephen Sarles, his direct supervisor, Assistant Principal of Athletics and Activities Chris Lanzalotto, and other school administrators. The “Educational Services Professional of the Year” is selected by a small group of anonymous administrators, teachers, students, a Board of Education member, and parents who consider nominations from any members of the RFH School Community. This is the first year in which RFH is recognizing the Educational Services Professional of the Year and there is no one more deserving than Mr. Stein, having distinguished himself as an exemplary member of the RFH community and professional, both in the trainer’s room and on our athletic fields.
A graduate with a degree in Exercise Science from William Paterson University and a Master's degree in Education in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia, and currently in his 12th year as an athletic trainer at RFH, Mr. Stein works tirelessly in constant collaboration with the coaches and his supervisor, Chris Lanzalotto, to elevate the quality of treatment and injury prevention with all of our athletes. In the athletic trainer room, Mr. Stein has created an inviting space where students actively seek various treatments during lunch and after school and he has developed relationships with students from all our athletic teams. Numerous members of the school community have praised Mr. Stein for his compassion, professionalism, respect towards all members of our school community, and his ability to bring appropriate humor in to reduce the stress of any situation. Concerning his practice, this is not the first award for Mr. Stein as he has been recognized for his professional excellence in the past, specifically as the Athletic Trainer of the Month by Rothman Orthopedics.
In addition, Mr. Stein's contributions to the school community extend beyond the athletic training room. He is present every night and practically every weekend supporting our students on the athletic field and court. His dedication translates into countless hours spent at RFH supporting our students, and few individuals match his level of commitment.
Mr. Stein is a true asset and valued member of our team at RFH and his treatment and approach to injury prevention are critical components of our student-athletes and school’s athletic success. The Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School community benefits in so many ways from Mr. Stein’s contributions and we are extremely proud to honor his hard work, impact, and accomplishments!
