Peer Leaders are responsible for meeting with RFH freshmen and local middle school students throughout the school year.  The peer leaders teach the younger students various lessons during 9th-grade academy. Peer Leaders will be paired with freshmen as mentors; these groups will be introduced during orientation and will have Marking Period check-ins with their group.

Members of the Peer Leadership Program at RFH facilitate various presentations to their peers and attend events throughout the school year to promote awareness about various topics.

Some of these events include freshman orientation, freshman mentor groups, 9th-grade academy presentations, peer partners, teen dating violence awareness, suicide prevention, making healthy choices, and student wellness. As student leaders in the building, you are required to remain in good standing at all times - academics, attendance, and conduct.

Application Process

Applications will be available in the Month of May. Applications are due (hand delivered) to Ms. Trocchia in early June. No late applications will be accepted.

  • New Applicants: Your completed application will be reviewed by multiple faculty members, including Mr. Sarles and Dr. Brow (attendance and discipline).  Before you submit your application, please be aware that being a member of the Peer Leadership is a commitment, and you must have the time to attend the various events and meetings in order to maintain your status.

  • Returners: Past year attendance will be reviewed and greatly considered in the acceptance process. If you are in danger of losing credit for a class, this will also be looked at.

  • Please note that all seniors who are selected for the Peer Leadership Program for a second year will also be recognized as Student Ambassadors at RFH.

  • 15 hours of Leadership are required for this application. Please fill out the doc provided and have the activities signed off on, or an email confirmation attached.

  • All students must be in good academic standing and not have failed a class from the recent school year.

  • If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ms. Trocchia at atrocchia@rumsonfairhaven.org.
