Peer Leaders are responsible for meeting with RFH freshmen and local middle school students throughout the school year. The peer leaders teach the younger students using lesson plans from the Life Skills curriculum. These meetings focus on the prevention of drug and alcohol use and abuse and offer effective coping skills for living a healthy life style. Peer leaders are also trained in the art of mediation. As a result, they train RFH students, as well as students from our neighboring middle schools, how to peacefully resolve conflicts. As needed, peer leaders mediate disputes between RFH students throughout the school year. Tenth, eleventh and twelfth grade students are encouraged to apply during the month of September. 30 students are selected for membership by a panel of staff members.
