Global Women Empowerment Club is an organization that works to spread awareness to our fellow peers about educational, health, and economic problems encountered by women across the globe. The club looks to gain insight on how to combat these issues with healthcare, education, and self-sufficiency. Activities include guest speakers and special topic films. Some of the different events that have been held in the past are movie night of “Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity and Girl Rising. Our fundraising has supported the following organizations; sending a female high school student through Change A Life Uganda, Aid for Karaptan (aids victims of the typhoon in the Philippines), Angels in Africa, Mending the Sacred Hoop, the Appalachian Women Fund, Women Thrive Worldwide, and Dining for Dignity to stop human trafficking in New Jersey
